DUAL MEDIA FILTER

First raw water is sent into the Dual Media filter which consists of four layers of filter media consisting Grade A sand layer, Silver impregnated Activated Carbon with high iodine value of 950IV layer, Grade B sand layer which retain the suspended particles. The filter media is supported on gravel bed that consists of pebbles of progressively larger sizes. During the filtration cycle the filter bed retains the dirt and suspended particles from the water and accumulates within the filter bed. Subsequently the water passes through the Activated carbon layer. The filter media is cleaned by backwash system. After backwashing the filter is rinsed with raw water and when the required quality of water is achieved the filter is put back into service. Depending on the filtered water quality required backwashing is either done with raw water or filtered water.

Normal operation of the Dual Media Filter is to prevent to absorb onto its surface free chlorine, organic compounds, colour and odour in the raw water. When further filtration is needed, in other words, Pre-Filtration for softener, Ro Plant, DM Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, Effluent Treatment Plant etc., it has to be split like Pressure Sand Filter and Activated Carbon Filter.

Activated Carbon Filter

Subsequently the water passes through the Activated carbon filter, the filter media is bed of activated granular carbon with high iodine value of 950IV. Activated carbon adsorbs onto its surface free chlorine, organic compounds, color and odor. The activated carbon bed is supported by a multilayer graved bed. The activated carbon bed is also backwashed at fixed intervals to dislodge any accumulated dirt particle. The pre treated water will be send into further treatment plants.

IRON REMOVER PLANT

Our Bore and Well water Filter is widely appreciated. Further, it also helps in Color removing. Generally it can be filtered only when converted by aeration process to a suspended form (FERRIC OXIDE). 

It is available in upflow and downflow models to fulfill the needs of both Domestic and industrial segments.

Iron Removal Process 1 – Online aeration Type

Raw water is pumped into the aeration tank consisting three chambers. The raw water is allowed to sprinkle at the first chamber through specially designed perforated pipes which facilitates instant aeration and when water reaches the third chamber dissolved iron content gets oxidized through the natural process and becomes suspended iron. The suspended iron water is passed through Hi Grade Multi layer filter media housed in a tank. The iron in water accumulates on the media as a precipitate thereby the reducing iron level to WHO limits. The precipitate iron has to be periodically removed by Backwashing system.

Iron Removal Process 2 - 8hrs storage aeration Type

Raw water is sent into the aeration tank and allowed to remain there for about 8 to 10 hrs to get oxidized through the natural process and the iron presence in the water becomes suspended iron. The suspended iron water is passed through Hi Grade Multi layer filter media housed in a tank. The iron in water accumulates on the media as a precipitate thereby reducing the iron level to WHO limits. The precipitate iron has to be periodically removed by Backwashing system.
